Formed in 2008 by a group of Russian speaking families who migrated to Cork, the Russian language school in Cork is a vibrant place to be involved with.

The school’s main focus is on teaching children Russian language grammar, literature, oratorical skills, Russian culture and traditions in the form of regular classes and distance learning. The school also runs or gets involved in such activities as those that not only involve language improvement, but support general children’s development and erudition. Russian cultural events (crafts, arts, chorus, drama), intercultural festivals and concerts, drama classes and panto performances, singing classes and Russian chorus, art and painting classes and competitions, pre-school groups (operate in Bandon and Wilton), film events, autocades, student exchange initiatives, active/sports times, elements/basics of history, geography, biology are incorporated into the curriculum of our educational activities.

Since the organization was formed with the purpose of serving children from Russian speaking families, it keeps supporting them continuously over a number of years with the acquisition of their Russian language skills and helps to integrate into local society.

Our volunteers/teachers are professionally trained and over the past years have acquired child protection, data protection, and first aid training, as well as Garda vetting certificates. Some parents support the school through organizing various activities, including the school’s community social outings. Many families are mixed: the father is Irish and the mother is from an Eastern European country such as Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Moldova, etc.
